Unfortunately, macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 is a retired Operating system that Apple stopped supporting around December 2020, and as a result is no longer supported by TaxCalc. If you have a macOS High Sierra machine and try to launch the TaxCalc application, the following SSL error will occur: Please refer to the below TaxCalc System Requirements and Retired Operating System knowledgebase articles for more information on this: To check if your macOS High Sierra machine is capable of upgrading to a newer macOS version, click the apple icon on the top left of the screen > About This mac > Software Update > and the App Store should open and let you know if there are any newer macOS upgrades available for your machine. Please note: You would need to contact Apple before upgrading your MacOS High Sierra machine (if you have the option of upgrading), as they would be able to advise on how to take a full system safety backup before upgrading your machine. If you do not have the option to upgrade your machine to a newer macOS version, you will need to migrate TaxCalc and your TaxCalc data to another machine (Another macOS machine running a newer macOS version or a Windows or Linux machine), in which case please perform the below steps on your macOS High Sierra machine: In some cases, you may need a new computer. Note: If you simply need to view any returns in TaxCalc on your macOS High Sierra machine (in a read only state), you can simply turn the internet off, load TaxCalc to view the returns, then when you are done, close TaxCalc, switch the internet back on (steps for this, including how to switch internet off then on, are a little further down this article). • Close the TaxCalc SSL error, by clicking the Apple icon on the top left of the screen, click Force Quit > Click TaxCalcHub > then click Force Quit, then Force Quit again. • Save and close any other non TaxCalc related work/applications that you have open, then temporarily switch off your internet connection, by clicking the Apple icon on the top left of the screen > System Preferences > Double Click Network > Click the small cog wheel > Click Make Service Inactive, then click Apply:
