In order to diagnose certain issues it may be necessary to send TaxCalc a Health Check.

This can be completed from inside the program by using the menu options on the top toolbar.

Help > Send HealthCheck to TaxCalc

If, however, you cannot open the program, you can send a Health Check manually

WINDOWS:

  • Navigate to the below folder:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Acorah Software Products\TaxCalcHub

  • Locate and double click the healthcheck file:

  • Wait for the black cmd screen to appear, then eventually disappear (this can take from a few seconds, up to a couple of minutes or longer depending on the size of the health check).

You may see a message saying that the system will shutdown, which it will not so you can ignore this message and wait for the black screen cmd to eventually close.

  • Then open windows file explorer, type %temp% in the file path section at the top, press enter then locate and send us a copy of the zipped health check file by reply to this email.

You may need to click on the Date Modified header in the temp folder to place the zipped HealthCheck.zip at the top of the folder (depending on what folder view settings are currently in place).

You can then email a copy of the zipped health check file to support@taxcalc.com for us to take a look at.

MAC:

Click on the macOS spotlight magnifying glass, type terminal, then press enter:

Copy and paste the below script into the terminal window:

chmod u+x /Applications/TaxCalcHub.app/Contents/healthcheck.sh
/Applications/TaxCalcHub.app/Contents/healthcheck.sh
Open /tmp

Press enter and once the HealthCheck has been generated, you will see the mac /tmp folder appear on screen to reveal the newly created zipped health check.

Send a copy of this file to support@taxcalc.com. This file will allow us to investigate how and why your problem occurred.

LINUX  (including other distros):

Navigate to the Home/TaxCalcHub/bin directory and run the HealthCheck.sh file, save the output.

Send a copy of this file to support@taxcalc.com. This file will allow us to investigate how and why your problem occurred.
