How to resolve TaxCalc crashing issues on a macOS - Individual/Non VAT filer customers

Some users report that TaxCalc is crashing or not opening correctly when running the Mac version of TaxCalc. Please note: do not attempt these instructions if you have VAT Filer. Please contact TaxCalc Support.

Please follow the below instructions to resolve this issue.

  1. Click the apple finder icon.
  2. Click Go > Hold down the alt key on your macOS keyboard.
  3. Click Library.

  1. Double click folders Application Support > Acorah Software Products > TaxCalcHub > Rename the hub.sqlite file to hub.sqliteOLD then close the macOS finder window. 
  2. Try to load TaxCalc again to see if it successfully loads.
  3. If TaxCalc re-opens, please can you then re-link your tax return files by double clicking on your tax return file or opening a tax year and selecting File > Open and browsing to the location of your saved tax return file.
