TaxCalcHub.exe – Bad Image C:\\WINDOWS\SYSTEM21\VCRUNTIME140.dll & MSVCP140.dll

If the following messages appear when trying to run the TaxCalc application for the first time on a new Windows 10 or 11 PC, the below steps can be used to fix the issue:

  1. Click OK until there are no further 140.dll errors showing (there may be a total of x4 .dll errors):

  1. Right click the Windows Start menu and click File Explorer.

  1. Navigate to folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Acorah Software Products\TaxCalcHub then right click the vc_redist.x86 file and select run as administrator:

  1. Click Yes, then then check the box to agree to the licence terms and conditions, then click install:

  1. Wait for the install to complete, then click Close:

  1. Launch the TaxCalc application, which should then successfully load, enabling you to then follow the initial TaxCalc setup wizard.
