How do I enter online filing credentials (Practice users)?

To enter/edit your Company details, address, email etc, follow these steps:

  1. Click on Help > Application Settings.
  2. Click on Firm Details on the left.
  3. Double click on Main Office in the middle.
  4. Click on Contact Details.
  5. Enter the details as required on this page. Please Note: Main email is used for Gateway responses.
  6. Exit this tab and click on Save. Alternately, click on Continue at the bottom right until you get the Finish page. Then click on Finish and Save on the bottom right.

To enter your HMRC Self Assessment and Corporation Tax credentials, follow the below steps:

  1. Click on Help > Application Settings.
  2. Double click on Tax Return Production in the middle.
  3. Click on Filing Credentials on the left.
  4. Enter the HMRC User IDs and the associated passwords for the listed services.
  5. If you would like to see the password as it is typed in, then tick the Display password text as it is entered box. This will be hidden after saving later on return to the main Administration screen.
  6. Your Agent Reference is only used for 64-8 online agent authorisation. This will be required in upper case. If you are unsure how to locate this, it is displayed on "Your Services” when you login to your HMRC account
  7. Exit this tab and click on Save. Alternately, click on Continue at the bottom right until you get the Finish page. Then click on Finish and Save on the bottom right.

Please Note: This will only affect newly created tax returns. If you have created your tax return before amending/adding your credentials, follow the these steps on the tax return to refresh the content:

  1. Open the return.
  2. Click on Check and Finish.
  3. Click on File online.
  4. Change the radio button from Use my Firms gateway credentials to Use my Users gateway credentials.
  5. Change it back to Use my Firms gateway credentials to refresh the content.

To enter your Companies House filing credentials (Presenter ID & Authentication)

  1. Click on Help >  Application Settings
  2. Double click on Accounts  Production in the middle
  3. Click on Online filing (Companies House) on the left
  4. Enter your Presenter ID and Authentication.
  5. Exit this tab and click on Save. Alternately, click on Continue at the bottom right until you get the Finish page. Then click on Finish and Save on the bottom right.

Please Note: You cannot use the Companies House login email/password but must apply for Presenter details. For further details, click on the following link: How do I apply for a Presenter Authentication Code and Presenter Identifier from Companies House?

To enter your HMRC VAT filing credentials (Non-MTD only)

  1. Click on Help > Application Settings
  2. Double click on VAT Filer in the middle
  3. Click on Filing Credentials on the left
  4. Enter your HMRC User ID and associated password for VAT services
  5. If you would like to see the password as it is typed in, then tick the Display password text as it is entered box. This will be hidden after saving later on return to the main Administration screen.
  6. Exit this tab and click on Save. Alternately, click on Continue at the bottom right until you get the Finish page. Then click on Finish and Save on the bottom right.

Please note: Alternatively this all can be done through the Admin Centre on the home screen.
