Where do I enter Filing Credentials for Tax Return Production?
To enter your HMRC Self Assessment and Corporation Tax Filing Credentials, please follow the below instructions:
For your Firm's details:
- Launch Admin Centre > Applications
- Click on Tax Return Production > Customise TaxCalc
- Click on Filing Credentials on the left
- Enter in your HMRC User ID and HMRC Password for the listed services.
- If you would like to see the password as it is typed in, then tick the Display password text as it is entered box. This will be hidden after saving later on return to the main Administration screen
- Your Agent Reference is only used for 64-8 online agent authorisation. This will be required in upper case. If you are unsure how to locate this, it is displayed on "Your Services” when you login to your HMRC account
- Click on Finish > Finish and Save
For your Office: please note a WorkFlow licence is required to access this area
- Launch Admin Centre
- Click on Firm Details
- Click on the relevant office you wish to edit > Edit Office
- Navigate to Online Filing Settings and enter in the your HMRC User ID and HMRC Password for the listed services
- Click on Finish > Finish and Save
For each User:
- Launch Admin Centre
- Click on Users
- Click on the relevant username you wish to edit and Edit User
- Click on Online Filing Settings and enter in your HMRC User ID and HMRC Password for the listed services
- Click on Finish > Finish and Save
Please Note: The above will only affect newly created tax returns. If you have created your tax return before amending/adding your credentials, follow these steps on the tax return to refresh the content:
- Open the return
- Click on Check and Finish
- Click on File online
- Change the radio button from the option currently applied to an alternative option
- Change it back to your required location to refresh the filing credentials presented
If you are wanting to use Client specific Tax Filing Credentials then please follow the instructions below:
- Open the relevant client in Tax Return Production and open the required tax year.
- Click on Check and Finish > File Online
- Enter in the HMRC User ID and HMRC Password
- If you would like to see the password as it is typed in, then tick the Display password text as it is entered box. Please note, this password is encrypted upon closing and re-opening the tax return
- These credentials can be imported into the next tax year at the point of creation. If the return is already created, a refresh is required as per the below:
- Change the radio button from the option currently applied to a different selection
- Change it back to 'Use gateway credentials imported from the previous years tax return' to refresh the filing credentials presented.
