The Root Database password is held within the TaxCalc Postgres database. For safety the database is is not removed when uninstalling TaxCalc or PostgreSQL through the Windows control panel.

This password can only be recovered or removed.

To recover this password we need access to the supportinfo file, follow these steps on the TaxCalc server to locate and email this file to us.

  1. Click on your Windows logo.
  2. Type %localappdata% and select the file folder.
  3. Open Acorah Software Products.
  4. Email the support team a copy of the supportinfo file from your registered email address.
  5. A copy of the root db password will then be supplied.

If the supportinfo file is not present please log onto the machine as the Windows Administrator and try again.

To remove this password a full uninstall of TaxCalc can be  performed Full Uninstall of the TaxCalc Server this will remove the existing database and allow the new installation to create a new Root database password.
