Below is some useful information surrounding the data held within the Dividend Database for the 2022-23 tax year. If you are looking for information relating to the 2021-22 tax year, please review our article for Useful information relating to the Dividend Database (2021-22). For information relating to other years, please see Dividend Database, useful information

The following companies performed a share split (or reverse split) during or just prior to the 2022-23 tax year.

AVI Global Trust, Aviva, GlaxoSmithKline, JD Sports, Personal Assets Trust

Quilter, Tate & Lyle, Temple Bar Investment Trust and Secure Income REIT

This means that you may have more (or less) shares in a company.

(New share certificates would have been sent to shareholders)

Some Companies also paid cash to shareholders at the split; this may be treated as a Capital Gain, the company would advise of this.

The Dividend Database rolls forward the shareholding from the previous year’s Dividend Database

After using ‘Refresh’, the holding for 2022-23 must be updated manually in the wizard for these companies.

The 2022-23 holding is the rounded down figure of the 2021-22 holding x a multiplier.

The 2022-23 ‘ordinary share price’ will show which holding may need to be updated.

Example (GSK see below)
