How to run and use D-Bug effectively for TaxCalc purposes

When collecting logs for any TaxCalc investigation, it is strongly advised to run D-Bug so that it can collect specific lines of code that will help identify what is causing the problem.

It is also advised to run the D-Bug tool with 'SQL Statements' as this will show a bit more information than the standard default

Adding the D-Bug tool on to a Windows PC

  • Use the transfer option via AnyDesk to send across the D-Bug.exe tool
  • Move the file to a local directory on the machine (preferably desktop or C/TaxCalcHub)
  • Close TaxCalc
  • Open D-Bug then minimize the window and open TaxCalc

D-Bug will display lines of code as TaxCalc starts. It will capture any errors normally with at least one or two lines of text that points to a specific issue.
