Error code 8023 – fatal: EF documents not found

You may receive this message if you check for the response too quickly after the submission has been processed. We recommend that you click on Check Status an hour after the submission has processed. 

Alternatively this message can appear if Companies House are having problems with their system. 

This problem is usually intermittent and should be resolved if you resubmit your accounts. 

If the issue persists, Please send TaxCalc Support a copy of the XML file that goes to Companies House during online submission. To do this, please follow these steps so that we can investigate your issue accordingly.  

  1. Go to Accounts Production.
  2. Open the relevant accounting period for the client.
  3. Click on Check and Finish.
  4. Right-click on the most recent submission attempt.
  5. Select Send to TaxCalc.
  6. Enter the applicable information in the pop-up box.
  7. Click Send.
  8. Click OK to the support ticket ID prompt.

Support should then be able to assist in troubleshooting the issue.
