Error message: 9999 when filing to Companies House

If you get error message 9999 when trying to file to Companies House, it means that the online filing service is down or you've entered incorrect details.

The following details are often entered incorrectly:

  • Company registration number – must include the 0 and match the number on the Companies House website.
  • Company name – must match the name on the public record.
  • Presenter Identifier.
  • Presenter authentication.
  • Company authentication code.

To resolve this, check the above, make changes where necessary and resubmit the accounts.
