What are some of the merits of electronic verification?

Electronic verification has many advantages such as:

  1. saving time and helping build customer relationships, as it removes the need for the customer to be present while the check is conducted.
  2. providing the extra security and reducing the risk of money laundering and fraud, as documentary evidence previously relied on may not always be available and can easily be altered or forged.
  3. making record keeping cheaper and easier.
  4. representing a straightforward way of accessing several corroborative data sources, such as electoral roll, banking and credit information.
