When filing a CT600 return online to HMRC, you may receive the below error:
HMRC have rejected the return on the basis that they have an original return already held on file against this company UTR. The only way you would be able to proceed with the online submission currently would be to follow the instruction in our article for How do I resubmit a return or file an amended return? and process the return as an amended return. If you disagree with the failure message and believe no original submission has been processed for the return period, you would need to Contact the HMRC Corporation Tax office to further discuss this. They may be able to remove the submission held to allow you to process this return as the original submission which would then allow you to re-attempt the submission as an original without the failure message being generated at submission.
