TaxCalc defaults the tax returns to be stored in the central database. If you’re using a standalone or network version, you have the option to store your returns either in a local database or in regular files. We do not recommend this as it may cause potential duplication of data, particularly if running a network version.
To import any returns not saved in your database complete the following steps:
- Open TaxCalc.
- Select the client that has the return you wish to import into the database.
- Open in Tax Return Production.
- Any returns saved as a file will show a link next to the period (any returns that should be linked but cannot be found are shown as a Broken red link).
