Why can I no longer generate Abbreviated Accounts?Abbreviated Accounts can still be generated for filing at Companies House for accounting periods starting before 1 January 2016.However, as part of the changes to the Small Companies Regime, the option to prepare Abbreviated Accounts was removed and therefore can no longer be applied for periods starting on or after 1 January 2016. Although the option to prepare Abbreviated Accounts has been removed, small companies still have the option (under the Companies Act 2006, section 444) not to file the Profit and Loss Account and/or Directors Report at Companies House. In addition, the new Small Companies Regime also provides an option to prepare and Abridged Profit and Loss Account and/or Balance Sheet (in accordance with paragraph 1A of Schedule 1 to the Small Companies Regime). |
