Date Offsets in Jobs and Tasks

Within a Job Template and the Workflow mode associated Tasks, you can use date offsets to calculate when Jobs or Tasks are due so that you don’t miss important deadlines.

You can specify a due date and a start date to determine when the Job or Task is to begin. You can also set due date and start date reminders to notify your users at each stage.

The following date offsets are available for Jobs:

Statutory Deadline – This option is available if you are using one of the following Job Types:

Usual Year End – The Usual Year End field in the client’s business record must be populated to use this option.

VAT Period End – The VAT return period and VAT period end fields in the client’s business record must be populated to use this option.

Confirmation Statement Date – This option is only applicable for Limited Companies and LLP clients.

Tax Year End – The Tax Year End is calculated based on when the Job is created in relation to 5th April.

Date of last engagement – This option uses the Date of last engagement field from the client record.

Custom – No other information required. When a Job is created, you must manually enter a date.

The following additional date offsets are available for Tasks:

Job Start Date – The date the Job will start.

Job Due Date – The date the Job is due.

Task Completion (Previous) – This field is blank and only populated once the previous Task prior to the selected Task is complete.
