You can enter chargeable event and life insurance gains in SimpleStep or HMRC Forms mode.

SimpleStep mode

1. Select Other Income from the left-hand menu.
2. Go to Savings and Investments.
3. Tick the box Taxable sums from a UK life insurance policy (chargeable events)
4. Click on Next step. this will take you to the page titled, Taxable sums from UK life insurance policies, capital redemption policies and life annuity contracts
5. Enter the information for the gains.

HMRC Forms mode

1. Select Additional Information from the left-hand menu.
2. Go to Page 1.
3. Enter the information into the boxes 4-11 separately or click on the wizard icon to enter the information as a breakdown.
