How can I identify which notes (under Edit Notes) are required by company law (FRS 102 1A)?

Filter options are available within Edit Notes (from version 6.2); the combo-box includes options show only notes that are required by law (aka mandatory) OR encouraged by FRS (applies to FRS 102 1A only); and another to show only notes that are on OR off (all standards).

The addition of these filters allows quick reference to what is and isn’t required to be included within the Financial Statements and provides a confirmation as to whether a note should be included or not.

FRS 102 section 1A re-affirms the disclosures required by company law (under the Companies Act and the Small Companies Regime).  These are referred to as ‘required by law’.  In addition, as FRS 102 section 1A is not able to mandate any additional disclosure, it uses the ability to ‘encourage’ additional disclosures it feels are necessary to give a true and fair view.
