Migrating from Network/Standalone to the CloudConnect

Completing a backup ready for the migration to TaxCalc CloudConnect.

Please note that if you believe you have more than one database (installations on different machines) with different client information on each one, then contact TaxCalc Support for further assistance clarifying. Do not complete the migration to cloud.

TaxCalc CloudConnect is a product that will need to be purchased before being able to access the migration process. If this is a product that you are interested in purchasing, then please do contact the TaxCalc Sales team.

Please also ensure that you have completed the Advanced Security process, before following through the below steps:

  • Start the TaxCalc application on the Server machine (main machine for standalone users)
  • Login with the Hub Administrator credentials (username admin and the appropriate password)
    • Please note for Standalone users, the login may be disabled. If this is applicable to your scenario, please continue
  • Browse to Admin Centre > Database > Backup Database
  • Browse > Select the desktop as the location to save the backup file
  • Once the location of the backup has been selected > Backup

Starting the migration process to CloudConnect

  • Visit the TaxCalc website
  • Login with the registered email address and password
  • Select My Account > My Products and Services > Upgrade
  • Follow through the onscreen instructions until prompted to locate the backup that you had previously taken (as above)
  • Locate the backup and start the upload process
  • At the point of completion, you will receive an email to confirm that you've successfully been migrated to the CloudConnect

Accessing the TaxCalc application post completion of the migration process

If you have not already set an admin password, you will be required to set one to enable access to your CloudConnect database. Note that when the migration has been completed, you will be faced with an information box that explains how to login for the first time.


If you're unsure what the admin password is; once the migration has finished then please use the steps below to assist:

While logged into the TaxCalc website > browse to My Account Edit My DetailsEdit Admin User Password. Here you will be able to set the admin user password to login to your TaxCalc CloudConnect database.
