How to resolve the white screen issue on my Mac

On the 22nd October 2021 we updated the installation media for our Mac users. If you are experiencing the problems detailed in the article below please firstly re-download the Mac installer from your TaxCalc account under My Account \ My Products and Services and try the installation again.

If you continue to have problems with installing TaxCalc on a Mac please contact support@taxcalc.com where we will be happy to assist further.

After a recent update, some customers using TaxCalc on a Mac OS may encounter a white screen when attempting to view a tax return (new or existing). Your data is safe but not visible within TaxCalc itself. The resolution is specific to the Mac OS which you are running so please review the below information.

Please note these steps temporarily load an older version of the application as a workaround to this problem and when you next launch TaxCalc it will auto-update to the version you originally updated to. You can confirm your are running the latest version for your specific licences by selecting Help > Check for updates from the top toolbar.

The first thing you will need to know is which Mac OS you are using. To do this, click on the Apple icon (which is located at the top left of the screen) then select About This Mac.

Big Sur (11.0 and higher)

If you are running Big Sur, please follow these instructions to reinstall.
 

For Personal and CloudConnect customers.
Reinstallation of TaxCalc on Mac OS Big Sur - Personal and CloudConnect

For Practice (Standalone and Network) customers.
Reinstallation of TaxCalc on Mac OS Big Sur - Practice

Catalina or prior Mac OS (10.15 or earlier)

If you are running Catalina or a prior supported Mac OS, follow these instructions to reinstall.

For Personal and CloudConnect customers.

For Practice (Standalone and Network) customers.
Reinstallation of TaxCalc on Mac OS Catalina or earlier - Practice
